Louisa County, Iowa

Louisa County, located in southern east central Iowa is named for Louisa Massey, who avenged her brothers murder.

The seat and largest city is Wapello. It borders Johnson, Muscatine, Des Moines, Henry and Washington counties in Iowa, and Rock Island and Mercer Counties in Illinois.

Main highways are US-61, IA-70, IA-78 and IA-92
